March 2025 Updates

Well, I've wanted to give an update for about a month.

In early March 2025, I've been feeling much better health and energy wise.  Making good progress on CAD drawings for several projects.

Creeping Sierra Cement Crud?!

Two weeks ago, everything went sideways when the whole household came down sick.  Several members needed hospitalization, one is still in with pneumonia (please keep them in your prayers to recover quickly).

Having seen better days, SP 4248 & SP 6387 wrecked at Guadalupe, California on October 21, 1952 - Brian Moore Collection

So shipments have been curtailed, as I don't want to share any of our unwelcome health issues with our fine customers!  I want to specifically thank the customer's who have put in orders over the last three weeks for understanding and accepting the delays.  You are all great and understanding folks, many of you I am happy to call friends.  I'll be getting the orders that came in during March out during this week.

3d Printed Accurail Conversion Ends

OMM 4074 B-50-13/14 Original Wood Ends, original proof parts.

I'm wrapping up a couple of minor changes to the pre-production Accurail B-50-8/10/11 and B-50-13/14 ends to improve the printing quality and de-spruing steps.

More Decals?

Our March 2025 Custom Batch of decals has arrived, along with a couple new versions of some sets and I'll be getting into those this week.

OwlMtModels' decal line continues to grow and be replenished.

OwlMt's friend and master decal artist Todd has also been down for a few weeks following a shoulder surgery.  So I'm sure we're all wishing him a speedy recovery.  I know several of his projects are very nearly ready to release here soon!

Hopefully all of those sets from the new batch will be ready to mail out to those of you that have asked for the custom artwork soon.

2-8-0 Conversion Kits

Still one of the old photos of the early prototype.

I know many of you are still calling me now that it's 2025 and asking about "Where are the 2-8-0 kits!?"  I've started working on them again in the couple weeks before the derailment of illness hit.  I'll be back to working on them again very soon.  So I'll ask for another short extension on this Epic Delayed project.  I know it's been said, "If you don't have your health, you don't have anything..." To which I'll just add, "It's really hard to make new model trains from a hospital room."  I really don't want to be a patient myself!

In Closing

I want to thank all of you out there, who have supported OwlMtModels and the Hill Family over the last 15 years as we make fun and new model trains to play with.  This all wouldn't have been possible without your continued support.  I always enjoy talking to personally at conventions, by phone, and by email.  Thank you all so much.
